AFCAT Notification 01/2024

Indian Air Force (IAF) is going to conduct Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 1/2024 exam for courses commencing in January 2025. AFCAT is conducted every year twice for the admission of those candidates who want to make their career in Indian Air Force. The test will be conducted on the mentioned date at various centres across the nation.

Important dates of AFCAT 01/2024

  • Starting date of Online form submission – 01 December 2023
  • Last date to fill AFCAT Online form – 30 December 2023
  • Exam date: 16-18 February 2024

Posts to apply – Interested and eligible aspirants can apply based on their age and educational qualification for the post of commissioned officers in Flying, Ground Duty and Technical Branches of Indian Air Force.

Educational Qualification

The minimum qualification is Graduation (B.E. / B.Tech. for Flying / Technical branches). However the qualification differs for different posts. Also there are some height metrics. Check official notification for details.

Age limit

as on 01 January 2025

  • Flying Branch- 20 to 24 years.
  • Ground Duty / Other Branches – 20 to 26 years.

Salary of IAF Officers

Flying branch- Rs. 56100-177500 – L10 – MSP 15500
Flight Cadets will be given a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month during the period of training.

Application Fee

Rs. 250 for all categories of candidates.

Exam Pattern

AFCAT written exam consists of General Knowledge, Math, English and Reasoning. Maximum marks will be 300. Total 100 questions will be asked and time allowed for the exam is 2 hours. Every question carry 3 marks and there is 1/3 negative marking. For every wrong answer given by the aspirant, 1 mark will be deducted as penalty. No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered.

Those candidates who apply for technical branch, will have to attend EKT exam which is conducted just after AFCAT. It is mandatory for candidates applying for technical branch. It consist of 50 questions with one mark for every correct answer.
