SBI Clerk Syllabus 2024 (Junior Associate) Exam Pattern

State Bank of India (SBI), the largest bank of India, had released the notification for 8283 Junior Associate (JA) Customer Sales & Support in Clerical cadre.

Candidates will be selected through the process of Pre and Main exam. Preliminary exam is to be held in January 2024 and Main exam in February 2024. Since the exam is near, so it is quite important for a candidate to prepare as per the syllabus of the exam as quickly as possible.

The online examination generally consists of Pre and Main tests to be conducted separately. First Prelims is to be held. Those who qualify it have to appear for Mains. Thereafter Specified Opted Language test is to be conducted.

Every section, except General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi.

Numerical Ability: This section includes basic mathematical calculations like LCM, HCF, finding missing no., series completion etc., Fraction, Ratios, Average & Volume, profit & loss %, marks, Market / shares, prices & Expenditure problems. Time & Work, Distance / Speed problems, Mensuration, interest etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: Number system, simplifications, Roots, Averages, Surds & Indices, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Ratio& Proportion, Partnership, Chain rule, Time & work, Pipes & Cisterns, Time & Distance, Problems on trains, Boats & streams, Allegation & mixtures, Simple & Compound interest, clocks & algorithms, mensuration, Volume& surface area, Permutations & combinations, heights& distances, line graphs, Bar graphs, pie charts, Tabulation

Series completion, syllogisms, Decision making, Statements, Analogy, Coding & decoding, Blood relations, Sitting arrangements, Classification.

Deriving conclusions, Passage completion, Error detection, Passage correction, Sentence correction, Vocabulary, Spelling correction, Grammar, Idioms, Phrases, Synonyms, Word formation, Antonyms, Sentence completion, Comprehension, Theme detection.

General Awareness: Indian Constitution, News about technology and research, News on India and its neighboring countries, Knowledge of current events, Sports, history, geography, culture.

Computer Awareness: Questions related to Computer software and hardware, operating system, shortcut keys, Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet & networks.

Marketing Aptitude: Questions on economy of India, questions on Marketing, banking and finance.

The main difference between Pre and Main exam is the level of difficulty of questions asked in the online exam. While preliminary exam is for the screening of non-serious candidates, Mains is totally focused on checking candidates’ knowledge.
