Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission released advertisement no. A-3/E-1/2020 for 1473 Lecturer (Pravakta) (Male and Female) posts to be filled in Government Inter Colleges (GIC). Candidates have to qualify Preliminary and Main Written exam and interview to be selected. After selection, candidates are to be given posting in UP Govt Department(s).

A new candidate appointed on the post of Lecturer in Government Inter College (GIC), gets the pay scale of level 8 : 9300-34800 Grade pay 4800 Pay band PB-2. This pay scale have starting basic pay Rs. 9300 with grade pay of Rs. 4800. This pay scale equivalents to 47600-151100 Pay Scale in 7th CPC.
Total salary can be determined by adding all allowances to basic pay. All allowances to be given by UP Govt are calculated on the basis of this basic pay. The basic pay keeps increasing yearly with increments till it reaches Rs. 151100 if the candidate stay on the same post. However candidates is given promotion to higher post after some years of services as per their qualifications or department requirement.

Salary Structure:
Total Salary = Basic Pay+Dearness Allowance (42%) + House Rant Allowance + TA+Other Allowances (If Applicable)
The starting total salary as per this pay scale is around Rs. 72000-77000 per month.
Deductions: 10% for National Pension Scheme (NPS), Income tax etc. i.e. Around Rs. 6000
Cash in Hand Salary of UP GIC Lecturer: Rs. 66000-71000.
Rate of Allowances:
Dearness Allowance: 42% of basic pay (from January 2023)
HRA: 24% for X category city (Metro Cities), 16% for Y category city, 8% for Z category cities.
