Haryana CET Syllabus 2024 of Group C Posts Exam Pattern

Here you can check Haryana CET Syllabus 2024 of Group C posts exam. Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will conduct Common Entrance Examination (CET) for recruitment to all Group C & D posts in various Haryana Government departments. HSSC will conduct CET Examination to select candidates for Group D posts (Peon, Beldar, Sweeper etc.) and to shortlist candidates for Group C posts (Clerk, JE etc.) for Next stage of recruitment.
Final selection to group D posts will be done through this CET exam and Socio-economic Criteria and Experience (SECE). Selection process for Group C posts consist of shortlisting candidates through CET Exam and SECE marks followed by Final exam. SECE marks are maximum 5 for Group D posts.

Haryana Government has declared the CET exam will be conducted minimum once a year.
Selection criteria:
  • CET Exam: 95% weightage
  • Socio-economic criteria and experience: 5% weightage

Exam Pattern

100 Objective type questions are asked in the written exam each having five options. One option is to be marked by the candidate in the OMR Sheet as answer. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. However, if any question left blank, 0.95 marks are to be deducted for that. Exam duration will be 1 hour 45 minutes.
Haryana CET Exam will have 100 MCQ Questions from following subjects:
  • 75% weightage to General Awareness (with computer literacy only for group c posts), English, Hindi, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude. 15 questions will be asked from each of these subjects.
  • 25% weightage (25 questions) to Haryana GK: Current Affairs, History, Geography, Civics, Environment, Culture, Literature etc. of Haryana.
The level of questions will be that of 10th class for Group D posts and 12th level for Group C Exam.
HSSC has the rights to decide number of questions, marks of each question, time of paper.

Haryana CET Syllabus 2024 in detail

General Awareness:
Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s General Awareness of
the environment and its relevance to the society, knowledge of the current events and of such matters of everyday observation. The test will include questions
relating to India and neighboring countries, especially pertaining to History, Indian
Polity & Constitution, Art & Culture, Geography, Economics, General Policy,
National/International Organizations /Institutions, Environment, Globalization,
Climate, Events, General Science, Computer literacy etc.
Haryana GK:
In this section, questions includes History, Literature,
Geography, Economy, Civics, Polity, Environment, Art, Culture, Customs, Norms,
Society, Current Affairs. Events etc. of Haryana.
Quantitative Aptitude: 
Number System including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, Relationship between numbers. L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion,
Percentage, roots, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest,
Mensuration, Partnership business, Mixture and Allegation Time & Work, Time &
Distance, Tables & Graphs, Trigonometry, basic Algebra, Geometry etc.
Reasoning:
Questions from both verbal and non-verbal type reasoning may be asked. Questions may be asked on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic Number Analgoy,
Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Observation,
relationship, concepts, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic, Number Classification, Drawing
inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic
Series, Figural Pattern folding and completion, number series, Embedded figures,
Figural series, critical thinking, problem solving, emotional intelligence, arithmetical
number series, arithmetical reasoning, Word building, Social intelligence, Coding and
decoding, other sub-topics etc.
The level of Reasoning questions in HSSC exams is usually easy to moderate. This section will help scoring higher.
English:
Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution. Synonyms / homonyms, Antonyms, Mis-spelt words, Errors spotting, Sentence improvement, Active/ Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration,
Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, tenses, Cloze Passage,
Comprehension Passage etc.
Hindi:
