Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will be conducting a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for various posts of Group D category. HSSC had advertised for 13536 posts of Group D (Cook, Peon, Beldar, Helper, Mali etc.). In this recruitment, selection process consist of only one common written exam and Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience.

The scheme of marks for Group D Selection will be of total 100 marks as below.
- Written exam: 95 marks
- Socio-Economic Criteria and Experience: 5 marks
Difficulty Level of Question paper: 10th class level
- 75% marks for General Awareness, Reasoning, quantitative ability, English, Hindi and relevant or concerned subject(s), as applicable;
- 25% marks for History, Current Affairs, Literature, Geography, Environment, Culture etc. of Haryana.
HSSC Group D Syllabus 2024
In the written exam, Questions are to be asked from following subject topics:
1. 15% weightage to questions on India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Geography, Art & Culture, General Polity & Constitution.
Quantitative Ability (15% weightage):
Quesions on Number System, Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, Relationship between numbers. L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, roots, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Partnership business, Mixture and Allegation, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Trigonometry, basic Algebra, Geometry.
Reasoning (10% weightage):
Alphabetical order, series, Coding-decoding, direction and distance, order and ranking, blood relation, analogy, classification, clock, calendar, mirror image, water image, syllogism, sitting arrangement, inserting the missing characters, statement and assumption, statement and conclusion, counting figures, Non-verbal series, analogy and classification.
English Language (10% weightage):
English Grammar, Spot the error, Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Shuffling of sentences (ordering), Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting mis-spelt words, Tenses, sentence improvement, Active / Passive verbs, Conversion of Direct Indirect Speech.
Hindi Language (10% weightage):
वर्ण, स्वर, व्यंजन, शब्द, संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया, क्रिया-विशेषण, लिंग, वचन, कारक, काल, अलंकार, तत्सम तद्भव शब्द, विकारी अविकारी शब्द, मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियाँ, पद, पदबंध, संधि, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, समास, प्रयायवाची शब्द, विलोम और अनेकार्थी शब्द, वाक्य संशोधन, वीरामचिन्ह, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द।
