HSSC had advertised for 4800 posts of clerk in advt 05/2019 cat. no. 1. One these posts, selection consist of written exam of 90 marks and 10 marks are of socio-economic criteria and experience.

When a new candidate join a Haryana Government department, he / she is given salary as per starting Pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 GP 1900 pre revised to Rs. 19900 in functional pay level (FPL-2).
Candidates have to be 12th pass or graduate in order to apply for these posts. The starting total salary of Clerk in Haryana as per this pay scale is around Rs. 30500-32500. This includes various allowances like Dearness Allowance, HRA etc.
Haryana Clerk Salary Structure:
- Pay Scale: 5200-20200 GP 1900 pre revised to Rs. 19900
- Total Starting Salary for new appointments: Rs. 31500-33500.
- Deductions: Rs. 2500
- Net Salary: Rs. 29000-31000 per month.
Rate of Allowances:
- Dearness Allowance: 46% of basic pay applicable from July 2023
- HRA: 16% of basic pay for Y category city (Chandigarh, Panchkula, Gurugram, Faridabad) subjected to minimum Rs. 3600, 8% for Z category cities subjected to minimum Rs. 1800.
Promotions:
As far as promotions are concerned, clerk post candidate have to pass SETC course to get promotions. They can be promoted to higher posts depending on department. For example in PWD, clerk can get promoted to Assistant Superintendent to Superintendent depending on department vacancies.
The pay scale increases as the candidate gets promoted. The salary also gets increment every year through basic pay. Increments will happen till the basic pay reaches to Rs. 63200 if the candidate does not get promoted due to some reason. This is the maximum pay scale that can be drawn on this post.
